A mainly Luton youth team eased into the second round of the competition at Conference strugglers Woking.
The visitors totally dominated the first half with some sharp incisive football as their youngsters looked eager to impress assistant Mick Harford and reserve team coach Brian Stein.
Only Peter Holmes was present from Luton's line-up at Oldham on Saturday and he struck the first goal - intended as a cross - after 26 minutes.
Woking's Grant Payne had a header cleared off the line by Marvin Johnson before the break and Stuart Reeks fired inches wide in the second half.
But Joe Deeney's header from a Holmes corner - despite Cards keeper Shwan Jalal's valiant effort to save - made it a comfortable 2-0 victory for the Hatters
