Luton Town and Bournemouth both kept their slim play-off hopes alive as they played out an exciting draw at Kenilworth Road.
A point will not suit either manager as they strive for promotion but was a fair reflection on a hard-fought encounter.
With both sides still chasing a play-off spot the game got off to a very tense start with the two teams looking to stamp their authority on the midfield.
Bournemouth had the better of the opening exchanges with both Warren Feeney and James Hayter having early shots form distance but it was the home side that drew first blood through Steve Howard.
The big striker claimed his 13th goal of the season when he powered home Kevin Nicholls' free-kick at the far post.
Luton caused the visitors a problem with every Steve Robinson corner, Howard heading one against the post and Warren Cummings clearing Curtis Davies' header off the line.
The visitors showed endeavour but were hustled and closed down at every opportunity by the home side.
Bournemouth should have drawn level on the hour through Hayter when Davies trod on the ball on the penalty spot and the ball squirted through to the striker but his shot was straight at the advancing Morten Hyldgaard.
With 15 minutes to go the visitors drew level through the lively Feeney who was rewarded for his tireless running.
The Northern Ireland international was unmarked on the edge of the box as the Luton defence froze and he curled a measured drive from all of 20 yards past the helpless Hyldgaard.
Both teams had chances in a dramatic climax to the game to take all three points and move within a whisker of the play-off positions but great goalkeeping from both sides ensured the game ended all square.
