Luton boss Nathan Jones endures first defeat as Notts County claim the pointsNew Luton manager Nathan Jones suffered his first defeat as his side were beaten 2-0 by Notts County at Kenilworth Road.The hosts had came close in the first half as Pelly Ruddock sent a volley well over the top while Paddy McCourt's shot was blocked by a covering defender.Leading scorer Cameron McGeehan tested veteran Roy Carroll low down and then side-footed wide of the mark from 18 yards.Izale Mcleod should have given County the lead after 28 minutes, lashing over the top, while Carroll had to palm Ruddock's fierce cross-shot behind.Craig Mackail-Smith's goal on the half hour was ruled out for handball by McGeehan with the striker then forcing Carroll into a stop from range.Hatters keeper Elliot Justham saved well from Jon Stead while the striker's cross-shot was missed by Mcleod from close range, with Ruddock shooting well wide when through on goal at the other end.County took the lead after 58 minutes when Adam Campbell's cross was diverted past his own keeper by former Magpies defender Alan Sheehan.The visitors had a second with 20 minutes left when Stead drove at the home defence and with Justham slow to react, beat the keeper.Debutante Joe Pigott almost pulled one back late on for Luton but his volley was headed off the line
