Davis: Return to first-team action?
Team News

Luton - Luton will probably have a similar squad available to them than they did for the dismal match against Southend. The only new player likely to be available for selection is Sol Davis. Sol has made unbelievable progress since suffering a stroke at the end of October, and is reported to be available for first-team action again. Before his stroke, Luton were in the play-offs and in superb form. Since then we have only picked up four points so hopefully his return to full training and match action will spur the team on to greater achievements. However, personally I don't think that Davis will play tomorrow. Newell has never been a manager to put players straight into te team after recovering from an injury, and tomorrow will probably be no exception. On the other hand, Davis may be on the bench just like Coyne has been for the past few games. Coyne himself made his first appearance for three months against Southend and coped well. He may be in for a recall to the starting line-up tomorrow. Newell surely has to change things around from the pathetic showing against Southend last week - it was so bad that it came as a shock when I saw Langley wasn't playing. Even Paul Hughes and Lee Mansell in midfield wouldn't have made the passing any worse. Only Barnett and Bell played well - apart from that it was the only game I have seen where the linesman gets himself injured and gets substituted to make it more interesting. Robinson is my choice to make way for changes - although he wasn't particularly bad something has to change in midfield to try and change the team.

Predicted Team - Kiely (GK), Emanuel (DL), Foley (DR), Coyne (capt) (DC), Barnett (DC), Brkovic (ML), Edwards (MR), Heikkinen (MC), Bell (MC), Morgan (SC), Vine (SC)

Coventry - The biggest concern for Micky Adams' Coventry team may come with the goalkeeping position. There are doubts over the fitness over ex-Ipswich and Norwich goalkeeper Andy Marshall, who played in last weeks comprehensive defeat at West Brom. The only fit keeper for Coventry is Spanish keeper Rafael Gonzales-Robles (nice name) who hasn't yet played for Coventry. However, Coventry have asked the FA for special dispensation to bring in another keeper, although nothing is confirmed yet, and Marshall may even be passed fit to play. Other than Marshall, Welsh defender Robert Page is suspended for tomorrow's match, so Danish defender Mikkel Bischoff will probably take his place. Ex-Norwich striker Leon McKenzie has completed a suspension and is in line for a return, as are Adam Virgo and Issac Osbourne. Former Brentford midfielder Jay Tabb is injured. Coventry have a very respectable record against Luton at Kenilworth Road. They have won 12 times out of 36 against us at Kenilworth Road, compared to Luton's 17 wins. The last match at Kenilworth Road in April saw Luton lose 2-1 to the Sky Blues with ex-Hatter Gary McSheffrey (now at Birmingham) scoring. Overall, Coventry have beaten Luton 35 times, with Luton beating Coventry 20 times. Coventry's recent form is good despite a 5-0 thrashing at the Hawthorns last Saturday. Before that, they hadn't lost in 5 matches. Top scorer Stern John only has five goals this season, and only Southend have scored less this season than Coventry. Then again, we have a bad defence. Coventry are 14th in the table, 7 points and 5 places above Luton.

Prediction
Tomorrow's result very much depends on which Luton turns up. If it's the same Luton as the Southend match, then we are in big trouble. If it is the better Luton team, as I think it will be, then we should play quite well. 3-2 to Luton.
