Hatch, 27, has signed on a season long loan from recently promoted Peterborough United, who have deemed him surplus to requirements now that Darren Ferguson has guided the club to the Championship. He spent the latter part of last season on loan at Darlington, where he scored nine times for the cash strapped club, with two coming against Luton. Hatch arrives at Luton with plenty of experience in non-league football. He was part of the Barnet team that won promotion to the Football League in 2004-05, scoring 10 goals that season as Barnet gained promotion. He was also part of the Gravesend and Northfleet side that won the Isthmian Premier Division in 2001-02. During his last season in the Conference for Barnet, he also won 6 England C caps, scoring 3 times. Hatch is 6 foot 3, so he should be a useful asset in the Conference for his height, hopefully playing alongside Craddock.
In addition, Luton have also moved quickly to snap up former player Alan White. White, 33, made 93 appearances for Luton in his first spell under Lennie Lawrence before leaving on a free when Lawrence also left. He has played for eight different clubs since leaving Luton, including a long spell at Colchester. Most recently, White has been with Darlington for two seasons, where he made 75 appearances, scoring three goals. Alan White becomes the fourth summer signing made by Mick Harford behind Hatch, Andy Burgess and Adam Newton.
