Talbot, 20, is currently on loan at Scunthorpe United. He has scored 1 goal in 2 starts and 1 substitute appearance for Scunthorpe. His goal came against Doncaster at the weekend. Talbot spent all of last season injured with a back problem and only returned in September. He played a part in Sheffield Wednesday's promotion winning campaign two seasons ago, where he chipped in with 5 crucial goals for Wednesday. The fee is thought to be around £250,000 for the 20-year old striker. Talbot is probably being signed on future potential rather than on his ability now, although with Feeney injured, Parkin injured and Morgan and Boyd pretty useless up front then he may be needed now.
The official website has confirmed today that Talbot is in talks with Luton, so hopefully Talbot can be unveiled later on today, if not then tomorrow, as a new signing. He will not be available for the Blackburn match on Saturday due to him not being signed before the deadline. The move may not hit Scunthorpe too hard, as Clayton Donaldson from York is being lined up as a potential replacement.
