As Luton fans probably already know, one of the bidders for our football club has been revealed as a group that calls itself Luton Town 2020. This bid is supported by Luton fans such as Nick Owen, BBC TV presenter and lifelong Luton fan, Gary Sweet, who is a board member of Trust In Luton and a person who was instrumental in ousting Gurney, Stephen Browne, another TiL board member and also former legends Steve Foster and Godfrey Ingram.
Some fans have already shown their support for the 2020 bid at the Swansea City match by holding up 2020 posters as the players ran out before the match. The same idea has been put forward for Tuesday night with the match against Liverpool, only we will need more fans to bring posters. Apparently, there was plans for posters to be handed out at the game but Liverpool are not allowing this to happen. Therefore, fans who are going to the Liverpool match and support the 2020 bid are being asked to take posters with them (preferably more than one so that you can give it to other people without posters and in case the first gets confiscated), and hold them up at kick-off as a show of support for Nick Owen's consortium. This should be more effective than Saturday if it works because of the wider audience on Sky Sports.
It is very easy to make these leaflets by yourself, and all you need is a computer that has Microsoft Word (or Excel) and a printer. Open Microsoft Word, and set the font to Arial Black, size 250. Then change the page so that it is landscape rather than portrait, and type 2020. Embolden the 2020, although this doesn't make too much difference, and print as many as you want.
It is fair to say that the chances of Luton pulling off a win against Liverpool are extremely slim, but nevertheless, your support will be crucial on the night. It is the perfect chance for you to show your support for the 2020 bid from lifelong fans of the club. Support 2020 at Liverpool!
