Vine (so good they named him three times) has signed on a three year deal after impressing in a year long loan spell last year. Vine scored just 9 goals from up front last season, but his pace and his ability to create chances for other players impressed the Luton backroom staff enough to sign him permanently from Portsmouth. Vine is the second signing this summer, after Carlos Edwards, and he will provide good competition for Feeney, Enoch and the up and coming Calvin Andrew for the second strikers place alongside Steve Howard next season. Despite his poor goal ratio, he still scored some impressive goals in last season's title winning campaign, most notably at Franchise FC and at Bradford City.
In addition, the new kit has been unveiled today. The kit, manufactured by Diadora, shows the club badge in the middle of the shirt rather than in the top left corner. Also, Electrolux have joined a select group that include SKF, Vauxhall and Travel Extras, who have sponsored the Hatters' shirts. The home kit consists of a white shirt, black shorts and white socks, whereas the away strip consists of a black jersey, white shorts and black socks.
The kit can be found on the official website. The home strip is being modelled by Curtis Davies, and the away strip is being modelled by Kevin Nicholls.
