Club captain Kevin Nicholls and Croatian midfielder Ahmet Brkovic have both signed one-year contract extensions to their contracts. The deal means that both players will stay at the club until 2006 unless Mike Newell decides to get rid of them.
Nicholls has had probably his best season so far for the club, scoring nine goals this season and his overall performance has improved greatly from last season. If anyone has improved more than Nicholls, then it is the Hull hero Ahmet Brkovic. Since Underwood joined Luton, Brko has moved back to the right wing, and this switch has reaped its rewards. Brkovic has scored 12 times for the Hatters this season including two memorable scissor kicks against Bradford and Port Vale, and has been an integral part in Luton's promotion push this season. Steve Howard is another player who is out of contract at the end of the season, and Sheffield Wednesday, Bristol City and Burnley have expressed an interest in Howie this season, so Luton fans will be hoping that Howard decides to sign an extension like Nico, Brko and Sol earlier this year.
