"We knew he wasn't getting a came at Coventry and we just asked to be kept informed of his situation," Luton boss Mike Newell told the club's official website.
"Because he's not been playing, we sounded Coventry out and they said they were prepared to let him go.
"I know there were quite a few clubs interested in him and we didn't want to see him end up at any of the other clubs in our division."
