The Wembley born 38-year old has been at the club since 1986 and has played over 400 matches in the process. In the last few years, he has also been youth team coach pretty much from his retirement from football in 2003, since John Moore's departure. He has also been an excellent rolemodel as a player for many of the youngsters coming through, and his mazy runs down the left wing surely inspired Matthew Taylor amongst others. Marvin scored 10 goals for Luton, and considerably more for the opposition. Notable moments from his Luton career include a scorcher of a goal at Villa Park back in the 80's, a brace at Molineux in the 90's and a brilliant run and goal at Vicarage Road in the 1997-98 season.
Marvin will be revered in particular by those of us who are too young to remember the days of Foster, Donaghy, Stein, Hill, Harford etc. As players and managers have left Luton for various different reasons, Marvin has stayed with Luton through four divisions. This may have been because he was never really good enough to move up or bad enough to be released, but he was also very loyal to Luton. Goals that stand out for the right reasons in Luton fans heads include his last minute goal against Ipswich in the Worthington Cup and of course his goal against Watford. It's a shame that he had to go, but there hasn't been as much youth team players coming through as there was in the John Moore era, so maybe its for the best. Everyone here at Luton MAD would like to thank Marvin for his contribution to the club and wish him the best for the future.
