After nearly a year in the financial quagmire recovering from John Gurney's disastrous takeover last summer, Harford revealed that the proposed new owners were finally given the green light to buy the club last weekend.
The Hatters' legend told BBC Three Counties Radio on Monday that Bill Tomlins - head of the consortium looking to take over - was now just waiting for the final paperwork to come through from the Football League.
He said: "I spoke to Bill at length yesterday and there was verbal approval and we're just waiting for written approval.
"Hopefully this will be proceeded by a press conference later this week."
