Luton start season on -30 points

The FA had deducted ten points and the Football League had deducted 20 points from Luton, and the appeal was rejected earlier today. In fact, it´s a miracle that we didn´t get another ten points deducted for the appeal being frivolous.

As many people have already pointed out, next season´s League Two could descend into a farce, after a statement on the FA website seemed to suggest that both Bournemouth and Rotherham could be deducted points as well, although it is unlikely to be as many as Luton will be. The finger of blame should be pointed squarely at the FA for allowing this to happen, as these punishments are clearly over the top, and probably will be for the other two clubs involved as well. It should also be noted that there has been a perfectly good consortium ready to take over from the administrator at Luton since January at least, and because of the incompetence of the governing bodies, we are still in administration (even though the process of checking the owners of the job are up to standard must be undertaken, although a fat lot of good that did last season).

The departure of Darren Currie to Chesterfield will certainly help though. Currie was widely expected to join Brighton, but opted for Chesterfield instead, probably because he was offered more money. At least when we are out of administration, Harford will be able to field and sign players who want to play for the club and will put in the effort. It has to be said that if Luton, Bournemouth or Rotherham are to get relegated, then it won´t be the fault of people at the club now, it will be down to the people who run the game being unable to give the smaller clubs a fair chance ör a fair trial.
