There have been numerous stories circulating around the Internet that state that Luton have been deducted 15 points starting from next season, in a case similar to that of Leeds United last season. As far as I understand it, as well as other Luton fans, this isn't necessarily true at the moment.
What has happened here is that one journalist or website has looked at the statement released by LTFC 2020 on the official website earlier today (not the one about the pre-season friendly against Leicester City). They have then misinterpreted this statement and believe that we have been deducted 15 points, like Leeds United last season. This story has then been generally copied and pasted by other 'reputable' websites. These include Sporting Life, Teamtalk, The Daily Mail, The Times, The Guardian, Setanta Sports, Sky Sports (also known as Sky Premiership, or Sky Big Four) and apparently Talk Sport.
At the moment, I believe that we haven't been deducted 15 points, although I'm not saying that won't happen, as that scenario looks fairly likely, if we are attempting to exit administration in the same way as Leeds did. The Football League haven't said we have been deducted 15 points yet, neither has there been a statement saying that on the official Luton Town website, and none of the excellent unofficial websites have fallen for the bait either, nor has the BBC. However, a 15 point deduction could follow, so all we can do is wait for official news from the Football League, and not rely on lazy journalism.
