| Howard: Leaves Luton for Derby |

The legendary striker scored over 100 times for Luton and is the third highest post-war goalscorer for Luton. He has scored more than players such as Malcolm McDonald, David Moss and Mick Harford, albeit at a different level. He has signed in a deal that will bring £1million to Luton and the 30-year old has signed a three year contract. Unfortunately for Luton, this leaves the club with only three recognised strikers (or forwards, as none of them ever score). Adam Boyd of Hartlepool has apparently been lined up as Howard's replacement. Boyd played very little football last season due to injury so may be a big risk for Newell. Nevertheless, most of Newell's signings haven't let the club down so far.
On a positive note, at least those people who spend the whole game criticising Howard will either stop criticising him or start supporting Derby. Everyone at Hatters MAD would like to thank Steve Howard for his outstanding contribution to the two promotions Luton won and to the club in general and wish him well for the rest of his career. We also hope that he will get the good reception he deserves when he returns to Kenilworth Road later this season.
