He signs!!!!!!

The powerhouse forward, who has scored 88 goals in 183 appearances for the Hatters, has agreed a two year deal with the club, with the option of extending the contract for a further year. The legendary striker now only needs five more goals to move up to fourth in the Luton post-war goalscorers list, above fellow legend Mick Harford, and seven to move above David Moss.

There was a lot of doubt over Steve Howard, with speculation that Stevo was about to sign on with Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke, Burnley, Gillingham or Chelsea instead. However, Howard and his agent have made the right decision to stay at the club that transformed his fortunes as a striker. When Howard joined on transfer deadline day in 2001, there were certainly no doubts of his effort, but there were doubts on his goalscoring ability. In September of the very same year, his Luton Town career looked in jeopardy after the twice taken twice missed penalty against York City at Bootham Crescent. Whoever would have thought that the big man would finish that season with the Golden Boot? He has gone from strength to strength since, proving himself worthy of being a League One player and proving he is worthy of a chance to prove himself in the Championship.

Oh, and Peter Holmes has signed a new contract as well.
