Lewis Emanuel and young defender Edward Asafapowell have both been sent out on loan to gain experience. Emanuel, 24, has gone to struggling Lincoln City, who are hovering just above the relegation places in League Two. Emanuel also had a spell at Brentford earlier on in the season, where he made three starts for the Bees. Blackwell clearly doesn't think we need another left-back or left sided midfielder at the club, so has sent Emanuel out, maybe in a bid to get rid of him later on. We still have Goodall and Davis who can play at left-back, as well as Underwood if he ever returns to action. Good luck to Emanuel at Lincoln - hopefully he can get some form back and return to Luton in great shape.
Edward Asafu-Adjeye has also gone out on loan, joining Salisbury City. Salisbury are currently 15th in the Blue Square Premier, and they have signed the young defender to try and bolster their squad and improve their position in the division. The move is unlikely to lead to a permanent one, as if Blackwell wanted to get rid of him he would surely have released him in the summer at very little cost. It is slightly puzzling that we have shipped out another defender on loan when we are so short of cover in that position with the sale of Coyne, but Asafa hasn't featured yet for the team, so he probably needs first team experience before he is ready to challenge for a first team place.
