Dave Edwards, 21, has had a very good start to his Luton career. He played four games in May, the one he missed was the cup win over Sunderland. In each game he looked very effective, and even scored his first goal in the League One defeat to Swindon Town. Edwards has certainly been the most impressive of the new signings by Blackwell overall, so congratulations to him.
Edwards beat the likes of Darren Currie and Paul Furlong to the much coveted gong. Furlong won the League One Player of the Month earlier on this week, on the strength of one good league game and one good cup game, so maybe Edwards should have been given the award instead. Furlong just beat Currie, who had the third most votes. Currie has also been good in the first month of the season, and definitely looks like a big threat down the flank.
