The Australian centre-back missed most of the second half against Crystal Palace after picking up a knee injury and was left out of the squad last week at Reading but may return for Sunday's match. Marcus Heikkinen is likely to play against the Saints despite being substitued against Reading with a dead leg. Sol Davis is almost definitely out of Sunday's match as he still has his knee injury.
Sunday's opponents Southampton are currently 12th in the league. The Saints have only lost 3 matches all season (once against Luton in August) but have drawn 13 out of 21. Southampton will go into tomorrow's match with Dave Bassett in charge after the controversial resignation of Harry Redknapp which led to his return to Portsmouth this week. Sunday also sees versatile midfielder Paul Hughes return to his former club, although Hughes may not start tomorrow because of a virus.
