Cherries move into administration

Bournemouth, who face Luton at Kenilworth Road on Saturday, have reported debts of £4million. The Cherries are the second team in League One to go into administration this season, joining us from earlier this season.

The deduction means that the Cherries, who had beaten Luton 4-3 at Dean Court earlier in the year, will now move to the bottom of League One (because of the ridiculous Football League rule), as they were in the relegation zone anyway, and will now face an uphill struggle to stay in the division. The Cherries had managed to win 3 of their last 4 matches, even with Russell Perrett in the side, and will now have to do that all again, and more, if they want to stay in League One next season.

The move into administration for the Cherries has been expected for a long time. Paul Telfer left the club earlier in the season by cancelling his contract so that the club wouldn't lose too much money on his contract, as the former Luton man had been plagued with injury problems. A gesture that he was respected for, and one that we sadly don't see from players at other financially troubled clubs, such as international strikers out with a season long injury. Not naming any names, of course.

The FA will soon deduct ten points from Bournemouth, sticking to their policy that clubs in danger of going out of business should be given no help whatsoever. Good luck to the Cherries as they look to escape administration.
